“I maintain what I said” – Fabrizio Romano provides new update on Moises Caicedo future

Moises Caicedo is fully focused on Chelsea, and the Blues want to discuss a new contract with him according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Ecuadorian has been in superb form once again at the start of the season, and has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league.

Gary Neville believes Caicedo is the best midfielder in the Premier League currently, and it’s hard to argue against that.

Moises Caicedo fully focused on Chelsea

Several clubs are reportedly attentive to the situation surrounding Caicedo, but he remains a major part of the Chelsea project going forward.

Caicedo switched agents earlier this month, which caused some speculation about his future, but it’s understood he will now be represented by his family.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals in eight league games this season, and is without doubt Chelsea’s most important player.

The Blues are expected to reward Caicedo with a new contract like they’ve done with Cole Palmer, and Romano has provided an update on the situation.

“Moises Caicedo is fully focused on Chelsea,” he told his YouTube channel.

“I maintain what I said in the summer: Chelsea wants to discuss a new contract with him.

“He’s already on a big salary, but his face remains a crucial part of the project.

“So I see Chelsea maintaining these conversations with Moises and his new representatives, but for sure the focus is on a new deal for him at Chelsea.”

Chelsea have so much depth in midfield

Midfield is arguably the strongest part of Chelsea’s squad, and the Blues possess brilliant quality in depth with their current options.
