Liverpool have some injury concerns ahead of games with Brentford and Crystal Palace in the coming days

The win ended a run of four-straight losses for Arne Slot’s side, who now play Brentford away from home in the Premier League before hosting Crystal Palace in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at Anfield on Wednesday.

The Reds are set to be without a handful of players for the upcoming games as the busy schedule continues. Slot’s side do not have a free midweek until mid-December with a number of Champions League and Premier League fixtures scheduled during the week either side of the November international break. That will change if they advance to the fifth round of the Carabao Cup.

After taking on Palace, Liverpool host Aston Villa and Real Madrid at Anfield and then make the trip Manchester City on November 9, in what will be their final game before the last international break of 2025.

As they prepare for a busy patch of games, we have rounded up the latest injury news from the club.

Liverpool injury news and return dates

Jeremie Frimpong

“Although people like to talk about us as if we have 25 to 30 first team players, when we play 11 versus 11 in training we almost always need one or two players from the under-21s. Jeremie only came back from a hamstring injury a few weeks ago. He played for the national team one game, came back to us and now unfortunately, he had to go off.”

Possible return date: v Nottingham Forest (H), November 22.

Alexander Isak

The summer signing was forced off after 45 minutes against Frankfurt with a groin complaint. Slot said: “He came on the first of September, so we had to bring him towards once a week and now we try to bring him to twice a week, which he did for the national team. But he was perfectly fit when he came back from the national team and he was perfectly fit before the United game, and we were expecting him to be ready to play again today – which he did but he felt his groin, indeed, a little bit.”

Isak has faced groin problems in the past and missed several games for Newcastle in the past with a similar injury. He did not appear in any major discomfort during his time on the pitch Germany and this one feels precautionary more than anything.

Possible return date: v Brentford (A), October 25.

Ryan Gravenberch

The Dutch midfielder was not part of the squad that made the journey to Frankfurt as he had picked up an ankle problem in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United. Addressing the injury, manager Arne Slot said: "Ryan is not available for the Frankfurt game, hopefully he will be available at the weekend.

"But it's an ankle injury, we have to wait and see, give him a bit of time and see where he is when we come back from Frankfurt."

Possible return date: v Brentford (A), October 25.

Alisson Becker

The Brazilian has not played since picking up a hamstring injury in the second half of Liverpool's Champions League loss at Galatasaray. Slot said last week: "He is not training with us, so he is out [of the game against Manchester United]."

"Like I always say, it’s so difficult to say [about a timeframe for a return] because the end phase of rehab can always give you positives or negatives, but he will not play on the weekend and also not next week."

Possible return date: v Man City (A), November 9.

Giovanni Leoni

The summer signing from Parma is out for the season with an ACL injury. He picked up the injury after an impressive debut against Southampton in the Carabao Cup.

"He is not in a good place, of course, because he tore his ACL and it means he will be out for a year. Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game... it's very hard to take the positive side,” Slot said last month.

"There's never a positive side – but you always try to look at a positive side and that is that he is still so young, so he has so many years still to go after he recovers from a terrible injury like that."

Possible return date: September 2026.
