Mundle has been out since the summer when it was decided that he would undergo hamstring surgery after suffering a fresh injury setback during the pre-season training camp in Portugal.
Although the winger was only able to start 17 Championship games last season because of a couple of injury blows, the former Tottenham youngster has starred when he's been fit and available.
And he's now in the very final stages of his rehab, with his surgeon happy for the winger to step up his recovery and Le Bris soon expects to have the winger back.
"Any player wants to be in the squad and the injury in Portugal was really disappointing for him because he worked really hard in the summer to be at his best level," said [Sunderland's](https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/sunderland/?ref=ed_direct) boss.
"He is really close, now. He had his last appointment with the specialist about his injury and he was given the green light. So he should be connected with the squad within a couple of weeks."

Mundle's return could be timely, with Sunderland set to lose several wide players when the African Cup of Nations starts in December. Chemsdine Talbi, Simon Adringa and Bertrand Traore are all expected to be part of the tournament, which will leave Le Bris short of wingers.
The good news for Sunderland is that those players won't depart until mid-December, meaning Mundle has plenty of time to get up to speed. After a serious injury and lengthy lay-off, the Black Cats will be keen to ensure they don't rush the winger back to action.
Le Bris said: "It's really important \[to be careful\] and avoid a reinjury but this is what the surgery was designed for.
"Conservative treatment was an option but because he had a second injury, the staff decided it was the best option to go for surgery. The feedback from that surgery was really positive, so he should be stronger.
"So now it is just a question of confidence and he will need maybe two weeks to be 100%.
