Manchester United star could leave in January transfer window
The Man Utd star left the club on loan in the summer transfer window and could yet leave permanently.
The 27-year-old left Manchester United in the summer transfer window on an initial season-long loan deal that also includes an option to make it permanent. Barcelona have the option to sign Rashford for roughly £28 million at the end of the season, a fee lower than the £40m asking price United would demand from any other club.
Rashford has enjoyed a bright start to life in Catalonia with five goals in his first 12 matches for the club. He netted a brace in the 6-1 victory over Olympiacos in midweek and heads into his first El Clasico clash against Real Madrid this weekend full of confidence for his new club.

Rashford open to permanent Barcelona move
Marcus Rashford always dreamed of playing for Barcelona, so it is little surprise to hear he would love to join the club permanently next year. Barcelona have agreed to cover Rashford's wages for the duration of his loan spell after he accepted a 25% pay cut to join them, which will save United roughly £14 million over the course of the campaign. It is due to this saving that United would allow him to join them permanently for a lower fee than demanded elsewhere.
Asked if he wanted to stay at the club beyond his current loan spell, Rashford told ESPN: “Oh yeah, for sure. I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it’s an honour.”
Rashford is still contracted to United until 2028 but it is deemed highly unlikely he will feature for the club again under current head coach Ruben Amorim. The England forward was frozen out under Amorim last year when he revealed he wanted a 'new challenge' in his career and subsequently joined Aston Villa on loan for the second-half of the season.
Quizzed on his future, Rashford added: “People forget this, but 24, 23 years of my life was with Manchester United, so sometimes you just need a change. I think maybe this is the case with me and I’m enjoying everything.”
