Ange Postecoglou knew the sack “was coming” at Nottingham Forest, says former England rugby head coach Eddie Jones.

Postecoglou was axed by Reds owner Evangelos Marinakis after just eight matches in charge at the City Ground.

He failed to win any of those matches, after replacing Nuno Esprito Santo at the helm, prompting Marinakis to wield the axe after just 39 days.

Postecoglou has since been replaced by Sean Dyche, who led Forest to a 2-0 win over Porto in the Europa League in his first match in charge on Thursday night.

Jones has revealed he reached out to friend Postecoglou via text messages after his departure from the City Ground.

“Ange Postecoglou just got sacked. We were just texting each other the other day. He knew it was coming but it still hurts. Hurts like buggery," Jones told SEN.
