The Premier League Panel Which teams will get better or worse next season

Arsenal are back in Premier League action this weekend as Mikel Arteta's side look to keep their momentum going

Arsenal have made an impressive start to the new Premier League season as they look to win the title. They are positioned top of the table and have won six of their first eight fixtures. The Gunners find themselves at the summit above rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta’s side beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night in the Champions League. Striker Viktor Gyokeres managed to get on the scoresheet twice against the La Liga side, whilst Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli also found the net. They are back in action on Sunday with a league clash against Crystal Palace as they look to keep their momentum going and here is a look at a predicted starting XI...

Arsenal predicted XI vs Crystal Palace: goalkeeper and defence

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya will keep his place between the sticks. He has kept four clean sheets in a row and will be eyeing another one against Crystal Palace. Kepa Arrizabalaga, who joined this past summer from rivals Chelsea, provides back-up from the bench.

The Gunners are very well organised at the back and are a tough nut to crack. They have the best defensive record in the league at the moment which has been a key foundation to their early success. The London outfit have let in only three goals so far in this campaign.

Gabriel and William Saliba are two rock solid options in the heart of defence. They will be looking to keep the Eagles at bay and deal with the physicality of Jean Philippe-Mateta. Cristhian Mosquera provides strong competition for their position.

Jurrien Timber has caught the eye over recent weeks and he likes to get up and down the right flank of defence. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Riccardo Calafiori come back into the team against Crystal Palace to freshen things up. He would take Myles Lewis-Skelly’s place in the starting XI.

Arsenal predicted XI vs Crystal Palace: midfield and attack

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has been ever-present since his move from West Ham in 2023. Martin Zubimendi was signed in the last transfer window from Real Sociedad and has done well. He has adapted with ease to life in England and is becoming a key player.

Eberechi Eze, who will be taking on his former club Crystal Palace for the first time since leaving, is set to play again from the off with Martin Odegaard out injured. He operates just ahead of Rice and Zubimendi on the pitch. The attacking midfielder scored the winner for the Eagles in the FA Cup final against Manchester City back in May.

Bukayo Saka will get the nod again and tends to cut in on his left foot from the right. He has scored three goals so far this season and will be keen to add more to his tally. Arteta may then take Martinelli out and bring Leandro Trossard back in after he scored the winner against Fulham last Saturday.

Up top, Gyokeres silenced the doubters with a brace against Atletico Madrid. He is proving to be a handful in attack and will be in confident mood. He left Sporting Lisbon for a new challenge and is still finding his feet.
