Efforts intensified to sign Crystal Palace player – Director ‘big fan’ and on case

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed Marc Guéhi will leave when his contract expires at the end of this season.

The centre-back’s performances and contract situation make him an attractive target for several clubs.

Earlier this month, we covered claims from Germany that Bayern Munich director Max Eberl wanted to sign him last summer. He couldn’t lure the Crystal Palace player due to the failure to offload Kim Min-jae.

Bayern Munich are still keen on the 25-year-old and Sky Deutschland now provides the latest.

The Bundesliga winners are ‘now intensifying their efforts’ to acquire Guéhi’s signature. It’s claimed Eberl is a ‘big fan’ of the England international and seems to be leading his side’s pursuit.

According to the report, the director had a secret meeting with the Crystal Palace star’s agent in Munich last week.

Bayern Munich centre-back Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae’s futures are uncertain. The former’s contract expires in 2026 and hasn’t yet signed an extension.

Sky claim Guéhi is the main target for the Bavarian club if Upamecano or Kim Min-jae move elsewhere. It’s not clear whether they’ll try to sign the England international if the duo were to stay. Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck is also in their list.

As well as Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Real Madrid are also said to be interested. The Reds came close to signing Guéhi last summer before the move collapsed.
