Amad has opened up on the partnership he is building with Bryan Mbeumo on Manchester United's right-hand side following the victory over Liverpool.

The duo started on Sunday with Amad at right wing-back and Mbeumo in the right-sided No.10 role. They linked up expertly in the opening two minutes as the Ivorian played a sensational through ball for the ex-Brentford man to open the scoring.

The 23-year-old believes the pair are building a strong relationship both on and off the pitch. "At the beginning, because he was a new player, we were trying to understand each other," he told MUTV.

"But now we find a solution: when he goes to right wing-back, I go as a No.10. When he plays as a No.10, I stay as a right wing-back.

"I think now we have a very good relationship, even outside the pitch. This is very important, not only to have a good relationship in the pitch, but also to have a good relationship outside the pitch, to put some things [together].

"A player has to be ready to play every position. I'm just here to give my best every game.

"If Bryan plays No.10, I am so happy and, if I play No.10, I'm so happy. But, for me, the most important thing is helping the team. If we win, we are very happy.

"It's nice. We've got good players and big talents. We knew already that Bryan, with Brentford, what he did with them was big things. So we tried to bring him here to do the same and he is doing the same.

"We are really happy for him because he's a humble guy, a really nice guy. I hope he can help us to score more goals, especially in the big games."

Mbeumo has three goals for the Reds since his summer move from Brentford. United currently sit ninth in the Premier League table and will move up towards the European qualification places with a victory over Brighton this weekend.
