Paul Scholes believes Tottenham Hotspur will drop points against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur entered the October international break on a high following a 2-1 away win over Leeds United. They were expected to build on that win after the break, but things have not gone as per the plan.
Thomas Frank’s side hosted an in-form Aston Villa last Sunday, hoping to register back-to-back wins in the Premier League. However, Aston Villa secured a 2-1 win in north London to condemn Spurs into yet another negative result at home. Following the defeat to Villa, Thomas Frank wanted a response from his boys against AS Monaco in the Champions League.
Tottenham travelled to France to face AS Monaco, after picking up four points from the opening two Champions League games. Spurs fans were greatly surprised to see their team escape with a point from AS Monaco. It was all down to Guglielmo Vicario’s brilliance in goal that helped the north Londoners hold the French side to a 0-0 draw.
Paul Scholes believes Tottenham Hotspur will drop points against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Thomas Frank and Archie Gray thank Guglielmo Vicario for helping Tottenham clinch a point in the 0-0 draw with AS Monaco in the Champions League.
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes predicts Tottenham vs Everton outcome
Thomas Frank feels Tottenham are on the right track despite recent questionable performances and results. The Dane must focus on addressing the negatives and finding solutions before their next assignment.
Spurs face Everton at the brand-new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday, and it is certainly not going to be an easy test for the visitors. Everton have performed very well at their new home so far, with no away team able to take more than a point. The Toffees could go level on points with Thomas Frank’s side if they secure all three points on the day.
Now, Paul Scholes has given his verdict on what will happen between Tottenham and Everton. The Manchester United legend thinks Spurs will drop points away at Everton, having watched them struggle against Villa at home. He has predicted a 2-1 Everton win.
Tottenham must prove Scholes wrong
Frank has definitely not happy with his team’s performance in Monaco, admitting that the French side were the better team overall. Guglielmo Vicario made a rallying cry to his teammates after his heroics saved Tottenham an embarrassment, questioning their effort.
Indeed, the performance at the Principality was extremely worrying for Frank and our fans. The north Londoners did not deserve anything from the game, yet came home with a point. Adding to the misery around them, Spurs may be without Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie, who are both suffering with injury problems, while Ben Davies has been ruled out for weeks with a hamstring injury. Then there is Jack Grealish expected to return to the Toffees’ starting XI after he was ineligible to face his parent club Manchester City.
This shows the size of task Frank and Co. are set to face on Sunday at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Our boys have to be at their best to beat David Moyes’ side and prove Scholes’ prediction wrong.
