Once again, there was a lot to like out of the NFC West this week. The Los Angeles Rams continue to be one of the best teams in the league, while the San Francisco 49ers had an impressive win. And let’s not forget about the cheat code that is Jaxon Smith-Njigba and his chemistry with Sam Darnold. We can’t ignore the Arizona Cardinals, as they at least get points for keeping it close for most of the game. Now, let’s give out some Week 7 grades.

Despite the San Francisco victory, it was the worst game we’ve seen from Mac Jones to this point. He only threw for 152 yards and an interception while failing to reach the endzone. Of those 152 yards, 72 went to Christian McCaffrey, so the downfield aspect of the 49ers’ passing offense wasn’t working. The only reason this grade is so high and why San Francisco was victorious is due to what McCaffrey did on the ground. In what was easily his best game of the season, he gained 129 yards on 24 carries with two touchdowns.
Defense – A-
With Nick Bosa and Fred Warner out, Bryce Huff stepped up, finishing with tackles, a sack, and two quarterback hits. Guess what, though, Huff is now injured as well. For this past week, though, the 49ers finished with two sacks and held the Atlanta Falcons to just 10 points. Holding Bijan Robinson to just 40 rushing yards on 14 carries warrants some credit as well.

Coaching – B+
On the defensive side of the ball, the San Francisco 49ers continue to weather injuries. This was one of the better defensive approaches and game plans we’ve seen from the 49ers. Despite injuries, the offense also was able to keep things going, with the major development being the running game getting back on track.

Overall – B+
While it wasn’t an explosive victory, it’s hard to argue with a home win over a solid Atlanta Falcons team. While the passing offense certainly could have been better, the 49ers aren’t actually playing at full strength in most aspects of the game. Christian McCaffrey truly carried San Francisco this week with 201 combined yards and two touchdowns. More importantly, San Francisco got things done on the ground.
Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (85) embraces quarterback Jacoby Brissett (7) after the two connected for a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Oct. 19, 2025.
Offense – B-
The Arizona Cardinals aren’t at full strength. You can’t knock Jacoby Brissett, though, as he threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns. Trey McBride had a huge game, catching 10 of 13 targets for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Bam Knight did a solid job on the ground, gaining 57 yards on 14 carries. Again, we do need to see more than two catches for 58 yards from Marvin Harrison.
Defense – C+
Allowing 14 fourth-quarter points wasn’t ideal, but before that point, it was a solid game for the Arizona Cardinals’ defense. Holding Jordan Love to just 179 passing yards deserves some credit. The run game wasn’t much better as the Packers managed just 94 yards on the ground. This grade should be higher, but allowing 27 points is less than ideal.
Coaching – B
At what point do the Cardinals have to finish a game? Scoring 24 points against the Packers with their backup quarterback and third-string running back is impressive. After what transpired two weeks ago, we should give Arizona some credit for two tightly contested games when they weren’t the better team.
Overall – C+
If Marvin Harrison played to his talent, would things have gone differently? We can say the same if James Conner was healthy. The defense played solidly, but couldn’t come up with a big play. Giving out points for coming close isn’t what we’re after, but that’s where we are at with the Cardinals.
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (11) rushes for yards during the second quarter of an NFL football matchup, Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The Seahawks defeated the Jaguars 20-12.
Offense – B-
The Seattle Seahawks scored 27 points and had three touchdowns on Monday. It’s hard to find fault with that, but statistically, there’s not much that stood out here. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was his usual insane self as he caught eight passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. The two-headed running attack worked as Zach Charbonnet scored two touchdowns. We’ll just ignore the ill-fated Cooper Kupp pass and interception.
Defense – B-
The Houston Texans came back late, but it was an overall strong game for the Seahawks’ defense. CJ Stroud only threw for 229 yards while the Texans managed just 56 rushing yards. With three sacks and an interception, it was an overall solid effort as, for most of the game, the Texans didn’t pose much of a threat.
Coaching – B+
The Seahawks did exactly what they were supposed to as they defended their home field. The play call that asked Cooper Kupp to throw the ball was unnecessary, but beyond that, Seattle did exactly what they needed to in securing their fifth victory.
Overall – B
This isn’t a game that necessarily drew style points, but the Seahawks scored 27 points and came out with the victory. Houston wasn’t really in the game for the majority of the night, and the fact that it was a one-score game is deceiving.
Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford calls a play against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round

Offense – B
Considering the Los Angeles Rams scored 35 points, it’s hard to grade them here. In reality, they were almost too good at putting points on the scoreboard, so there wasn’t much else to do. Matthew Stafford only threw for 182 yards, but with five touchdowns (three to Davante Adams), how can we complain about that? With 29 carries for 89 yards, the rushing game didn’t do much either, but we can’t be picky either.
Defense – A-
Trevor Lawrence threw for an impressive 296 yards, but that drops to 264 yards when you account for the Rams’ seven sacks. Jacksonville managed just one fourth-quarter touchdown as the Rams finished with 10 passes defended. When you factor that with 11 passes defended, the Jaguars never had a chance.
Coaching – A
No Puka Nacua, no problem. Travel to England, no problem. The Rams took the field with a clear approach and thought process towards picking up the victory, and that certainly came to fruition.
Overall – A-
A week after the Jacksonville Jaguars had an upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Rams took care of business with ease. The outcome of this game was never in doubt, and Matthew Stafford is in the midst of a Pro-Bowl season. Davante Adams was a true number one receiver, and rookies Terrance Ferguson and Konata Mumpfield both had their first career touchdowns.
