Games between Villa and City have served up more than their fair share of memorable moments and iconic goals in recent years.
We kick off the collection with an emphatic display from the 2019/20 season.
Sergio Aguero showed off all his predatory powers in claiming a Villa Park hat-trick to become the leading overseas scorer in Premier League history with Gabriel Jesus also making his mark as Pep Guardiola’s side roared to an emphatic 6-1 win.
The following season saw Phil Foden and Rodri both find the target as City came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory in a game played behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Blues also ran out 2-1 victors in the West Midlands in our 2021/22 meeting in game marked by two quite magnificent strikes.
VILLA V CITY | MATCH PREVIEW
The first came via Ruben Dias’s immaculate long-range effort which fired Guardiola’s troops into a third minute lead.
Bernardo Silva then took centre stage, applying a stunning volleyed finish in front of the Holte End to round off a breathtaking City counter-attack.
No City goal collection would be complete without an Erling Haaland effort, and the Norwegian made his Villa Park mark in our 2022/23 meeting, appropriately enough despatching a sublime Kevin De Bruyne cross as the sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Lastly, we revisit last season’s meeting which saw Phil Foden find the target on what ultimately proved a frustrating afternoon as City slipped to a narrow 2-1 reverse.
