Former Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford is currently training with Coventry City, reuniting with his ex-Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard.
However, our sister title CoventryLive has learned that despite rumours suggesting the Sky Blues' manager is looking to bolster his attacking line-up with the 32-year-old free agent, this arrangement is simply Lampard doing a favour for Bamford while he seeks a new club.
Bamford, who netted 17 goals in the Premier League in the 2020/21 season during his stint at Elland Road, and scored 16 the previous season to aid Leeds' promotion from the Championship, has been without a club since leaving the Whites last summer.

Previously, it was reported that Bamford was in discussions with Spanish LaLiga outfit Getafe for a potential move to the Madrid-based club, but that fell through and the striker is now searching for a new club.
Bamford and Lampard were briefly teammates at Stamford Bridge after the forward joined Chelsea as a young player in 2012. Lampard remained for two more seasons, whilst Bamford was loaned out on several occasions before permanently departing the club in 2017.
Last season, Lampard welcomed Jamie Paterson to train at Ryton, where the Coventry-born forward trained with the club before securing a short-term contract in the New Year.
However, it's understood there are no plans to replicate this at present, and Lampard is merely assisting Bamford in maintaining his fitness ahead of his next move.
Bamford joined Leeds in 2018 from Middlesbrough and went on to make 205 appearances in all competitions, scoring 60 goals.
