Aston Villa, Chelsea, Tottenham battle Barcelona for 23-year-old Bundesliga striker

Barcelona are reportedly set to face competition from Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham for the signature of Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani.

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur have all entered the race for the signature of Fisnik Asllani. But the Premier League clubs are all set to face tough competition from Barcelona in their pursuit of the Hoffenheim attacking sensation.

Asllani joined TSG Hoffenheim’s youth setup back in 2020 from Union Berlin. The 23-year-old got promoted to their first team at the start of 2022, and he has since had multiple loan spells away from the club.

Following an impressive loan spell at SV Elversberg last season, where he bagged 19 goals and 10 assists in his 37 outings, the youngster has finally been handed a prominent role in Hoffenheim’s first team. The 23-year-old striker has certainly made the most out of the opportunities he has had so far.

In his eight outings this season, the Kosovo international has five goals and two assists in just over 600 minutes of first-team action. Asllani’s impressive performances in the final third have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Graeme Bailey’s take on Fisnik Asllani’s future

While speaking about his future, TBR chief correspondent Graeme Bailey saidm “Asllani is a player who has massively stood out via analytics, but scouts are also purring about him. Barcelona have been hugely impressed but they are not alone, the English clubs and others are now fully aware of him and are tracking him now. Asllani is a name we are going to be hearing a lot more about.”

European giants could battle for Asllani

Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham have all joined a number of suitors to sign the 23-year-old striker, who has been in red-hot form of late. All three English clubs are looking for more firepower in the final third.

Ollie Watkins has not been at his best for Villa this season, while Dominic Solanke has struggled to stay fit since joining Tottenham in the summer of 2024, and Liam Delap has not had much game time at Chelsea.

All three clubs could look to sign a new striker in January, and Fisnik Asllani is quite high on their wishlist. The Premier League trio could face significant competition from Barcelona, who continue to scout the 23-year-old.

The Blaugrana are looking to prepare for life without Robert Lewandowski, and the Hoffenheim star is one of the names on their shortlist. The Catalan giants are believed to be leading the race for his signature, but the Premier League clubs certainly won’t make it easy for them.
