Barcelona superstar could miss an additional month if injury relapse is confirmed

Earlier today, reports emerged confirming that Raphinha has been ruled out of FC Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga clash against Real Madrid.

The Brazilian winger had resumed normal training after missing close to a month of action due to a hamstring injury.

However, it has been suggested that the forward had some issues on Thursday that stopped him from completing the training session.

Raphinha showed up at the Ciutat Esportiva this morning but left the facilities even before his teammates stepped out on the pitch to train.

Extended absence for Raphinha?

Now, according to Javi Miguel of AS, Raphinha’s situation is a concerning one for Barcelona as he could face more time out on the sidelines.

Indeed, if a relapse of his hamstring injury is confirmed, the Blaugrana winger could be out of action for an additional month, which will be a major issue for Hansi Flick.

In that scenario, Raphinha, who has already missed five games so far, could be unavailable for four more matches against Real Madrid, Elche, Club Brugge, and Celta Vigo. A potential return could happen on 22 November, against Athletic Club.

More updates are awaited on the Brazilian’s condition and whether he has indeed suffered a relapse or not.

For now, what is certain is that Raphinha will not be available for Barcelona when they visit the Santiago Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid on Sunday.

Prior to his injury, the Barcelona captain had featured seven times in all competitions this season, scoring three and assisting two goals in the process.
