Thousands of Chelsea and Brentford F.C. fans are facing travel disruption this weekend due to works on the London Underground network. The District line will be part-suspended in West London, affecting passengers heading to Stamford Bridge and Gtech Community Stadium tomorrow (October 25).

Trains will not run between Embankment/Edgware Road and Ealing Broadway, Kensington (Olympia), Richmond and Windsor until Monday morning (October 27). As such, Chelsea supporters will be unable to get off at Fulham Broadway or West Brompton, the stations nearest the Premier League club's ground.

Matchgoers should instead take the Piccadilly line to/from Earl's Court or the Mildmay line to/from West Brompton or Imperial Wharf. Queues are expected after the event, with Transport for London urging passengers to allow more time for journeys.

The part-closure on the District line will also impact those watching Brentford take on Liverpool later in the day. Spectators cannot exit at Gunnersbury station, the stop just 15 minutes from the main entrance.

They must instead travel using South Western Railway services between Waterloo and Kew Bridge, or Piccadilly line services to/from Acton Town. It is important to note, however, that the latter will be shut between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge throughout Saturday.

Transport bosses have taken this precautionary measure in response to the Met Office's yellow weather warning about Storm Benjamin. A section of the Circle line will also be part-suspended between Edgware Road and Tower Hill (via Victoria).
