Man United interested in Bayern Munich star

Manchester United will aim to continue their impressive run of form when they host Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Red Devils beat rivals Liverpool 2-1 last time out, winning consecutive Premier League matches for the first time under Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese took charge of United in November last year but his side have struggled during his tenure, and he will hope that victory against the reigning Premier League champions last time out will kickstart his side’s season.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the Manchester outfit have identified a Bundesliga midfielder as one of their new transfer targets.

As per CaughtOffside, United have identified Bayern Munich’s Aleksandar Pavlovic as a potential target as they look to bolster Amorim’s squad.

According to the report, the Red Devils are compiling a new list of targets after failing to add a midfielder to Amorim’s squad over the summer.

Pavlovic, 21, has progressed through the ranks at Bayern and has now played 65 times for the German champions across all competitions.

So far this season the Germany international has been involved in ten of Bayern’s 12 matches.

It is claimed, however, that Bayern could demand a fee as high as £70 million to allow the midfielder to depart Bavaria.

The report suggests that those in charge of United view Pavlovic as an ideal replacement for veteran midfielder Casemiro, with current United star Manuel Ugarte not perceived to be capable or fulfilling that role long-term.

Over the summer United attempted to add a midfielder to Amorim’s squad, with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba among their top targets.

The move never materialised, however the report claims that United are still on the hunt for a midfielder and that Pavlovic could be of interest to them next summer.
