Thomas Frank makes big Jack Grealish claim ahead of Tottenham trip to Everton

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has been speaking ahead of his team's first ever trip to Hill Dickinson Stadium to face Everton

Thomas Frank has warned that Everton’s Jack Grealish "can create something out of nothing". And the Tottenham Hotspur manager has spoken of his respect for Blues boss David Moyes ahead of his side’s first ever visit to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Grealish netted his first goal for Everton in their last home game, a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Crystal Palace in a 2-1 comeback victory, but as a loan player was ineligible to face parent club Manchester City for the 2-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium last Saturday.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference for Sunday’s game, Frank said: "Grealish, you know, I think it’s down to the player, but also part of the coaching staff, the manager and David Moyes have got Grealish to flourish again.

"He is their main creator, no doubt about that. He’s so dangerous, he can create something out of nothing in every game.

"So, of course, we need to be aware of him."

After the Dane steered Brentford into the Premier League in 2021, he was rivals with Moyes across the capital for four years with his club in the west of London and West Ham United in the East End.

The pair last went head-to-head when the Blues drew 1-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium on February 26, but Frank reveals they are close.

He said: "Everton are a very competitive team. There are more players than just Grealish.

"Beto has been good up front and (Illiman) Ndiaye has been very good. I think (Kiernan) Dewsbury-Hall has been good after maybe not being on top at Chelsea.

"And then a good colleague and friend of mine, David Moyes, is in charge and his team as a whole is very, very competitive.

"He’s a manager that I admire and a person I respect massively in the game.”

Frank, meanwhile, has confirmed that defenders Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie are not fit to face the Blues.

The Dane, whose injury-hit squad is also missing Yves Bissouma, Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies, Kota Takai and James Maddison, said: "Yes, Cuti (Romero) just walked out on the grass running, some of the performance guys, so positive, progressing, no time frame, but I don't expect it to be a longer one.

"Destiny is not on the grass yet, but still progressing, so again, not a longer one."

"Every head coach, manager wants all the players fit, and when we get that, then we complain about the squad being too big, and then you need to disappoint players, but anyway, I rather want that, of course.

"It is what it is, you're right, I very, very rarely say anything about injuries, because it is what it is, I need to deal with it, and it's my job to put the best possible available team on the pitch and get it hopefully clicking."
