NBA commissioner Adam Silver has done a lot for the league’s growth since David Stern stepped aside years ago, but the league’s head honcho will now be tested significantly in his role after the fallout that’s ensued with a massive FBI sports gambling scandal.

The 64 year old commissioner took over his role in 2014, and while the league has had some issues to deal with in the past, nothing compares to what lies ahead after the FBI director Kash Patel levied severe charges against various current and former NBA stars.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania even revealed on Thursday that since Silver has taken over as commissioner that there have been at least 35 instances of sports gambling malpractice investigated by the league office, with more potentially coming down the pike in the near future.
This revelation comes on the heels of Charania’s ESPN coworker, Brian Windhorst, speculating that Silver and Co. covered up the Terry Rozier sports gambling case back in 2023 and intentionally sidelined the guard without ever relaying why to the league’s fans or media.
