PITTSBURGH --Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Malik Harrison appears to be on the mend and could return against the Green Bay Packers.
Harrison, who has practiced over the last week as her recovers from an MCL sprain, said that his knee no longer has pain, and he feels like he can return this week if needed.
“I feel good,” Harrison said. “It feels normal. My knee doesn’t hurt anymore. I’m just ready to get back out there.”
Harrison noted that confidence was a big part of overcoming his injury. When he first got injured, he thought it could be season-ending, but even getting back to running and cutting was a tough hurdle for him.
“I had to build my confidence back up,” Harrison said. “I think when I first was running I wasn’t that confident, but this once I got back out there playing football, I got my confidence back.”
November 3 will be the last day Harrison could be activated from injured reserve. If he is not, the inside linebacker would be out for the rest of the season. However, with safety Miles Killebrew out for the season, Harrison’s return would be a critical player for them on special teams.
“I’ve been in the league for six years. I have a lot of experience, special teams side especially,” Harrison said. “Even in meeting rooms, I’ve been out there and talking to the young guys on what I see.”
An Ohio State product, Harrison was able to play in 15 games for the Ravens, notching two sacks and 54 tackles throughout the season alongside Roquan Smith. The Ravens went through multiple players after benching Trenton Simpson, including Harrison, who struggled.
He had 174 tackles in his career, seven tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits, with career-highs in every single category coming in 2024.
