A look at what West Ham’s squad is worth - according to Football Manager 2026.
While the brand new edition of Football Manager doesn’t officially release until 4 November, plenty of players are getting a preview courtesy of the early access beta – and amidst a fair bit of grumbling about bugs and the new user interface, that gives us a chance to take a look at how FM26 rates different teams.
West Ham United are struggling in real life, but perhaps Football Manager and their massive team of dedicated scouts and data analysts will have a high opinion of their squad anyway – so just how much does it think the various players in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are worth? Who does the game see as being worth peanuts, and who would take a small fortune for another side to prise away?
£49m for West Ham’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, anyone?
Before we get cracking in earnest, we should note that FM26 no longer offers a set transfer value for all of the players in the game – instead, it suggests a minimum to maximum price range for players, more accurately mimicking the negotiating and guesswork that goes into valuing players in real life.
For players in their prime, that range can be pretty broad – for instance, the game reckons that Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be worth as little as £16.5m or as much as £49m for the right buyer. We can’t quite imagine anyone shelling out the better part of £50m for the 27-year-old, but then if he had a brilliant season then that probably isn’t too far off what a first-rate right-back in his mid-to-late twenties might cost, especially in the Premier League.
What we can say from a scan of West Ham’s squad is that the game doesn’t think very highly of Konstantinos Mavropanos, setting him a floor price of just £9m, and it isn’t much more keen on summer signing Soungoutou Magassa – listed as a defender or midfielder, the 21-year-old has a price range of £9.6m-29m. Given his age, that isn’t great. It’s similar to that of a 32-year-old Alphonse Aréola. You know, the not-even-really first-choice goalkeeper.
Slightly embarrassingly, the single priciest defender on West Ham’s books in the game is Igor, who is on loan, but Jean-Clair Todibo could fetch a pretty penny and the game seems to be pretty upbeat on his chances of cutting the mustard at the London Stadium. Here are the maximum prices for all of West Ham’s goalkeepers and defenders:
Mads Hermansen - £43m
Alphonse Aréola - £23m
Łukasz Fabiański - £1.9m
Igor - £59m
Jean-Clair Todibo - £52m
El Hadji Malick Diouf - £52m
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - £49m
Kyle Walker- Peters - £43m
Max Kilman - £37m
Soungoutou Magassa - £29m
Ollie Scarles - £28m
Konstantinos Mavropanos - £27m
Jarrod Bowen set to cost a fortune in Football Manager 2026
If you’re getting ready to spin up a save and really wanted to get your hands on Jarrod Bowen – or if you’re a die-hard Hammer desperate to keep him – then we can tell you that he probably won’t be leaving East London very soon given his massive valuation in FM26.
Bowen could set a suitor back the better part of £100m, the game reckons, and while his floor of £33m sounds way too low for us – these ranges really are massive – that top price honestly doesn’t seem too unrealistic in the modern market.
Elsewhere, the game either thinks ageing Premier League midfielders are worth a premium or has a remarkably high opinion of James Ward-Prowse given that he’s valued at up to £54m (never happening in real life, let’s be perfectly honest) and also reckons that West Ham made a pretty decent investment in Mateus Fernandes, with the game’s AI apparently prepared to pay up to £85m for him. He was pretty handy at Southampton last year, in fairness.
There’s one more oddity in here – in the game, West Ham are so set on never selling Niclas Füllkrug that he doesn’t have a value. Seriously, he’s just listed as ‘not for sale’. £100m would not, apparently, make West Ham part ways with him. Whether that’s a bug or just an odd quirk of the game, we’re not sure, but he’s worth more than the GDP of a small country to the board in the world of FM26. Not the most realistic part of the game, in our opinion…
Jarrod Bowen - £98m
Mateus Fernandes - £85m
Crysencio Summerville - £74m
Lucas Paquetá - £55m
James Ward-Prowse - £54m
Tomáš Souček - £35m
Guídi Rodríguez - £33m
Luís Guilherme - £33m
Freddie Potts - £15m
Callum Wilson - £12.5m
Andy Irving - £9.2m
Niclas Füllkrug – Not for sale
