Tyreek Hill gets honest on unique reaction after suffering season-ending injury

Miami Heat’s star wide receiver Tyreek Hill won’t be back in action until the 2026 NFL season. Amid a tumultuous start to the campaign, Hill sustained a gruesome injury against the New York Jets in Week 4.

Hill exited what might have been his last game as a Dolphin in the cart. He surprised fans with his immediate reaction. Hill was smiling while he exited the field.

During an interview with former Dolphins teammate Terron Armstead, Hill explained why he was smiling after picking up a potentially career-threatening injury.

“The crazy part about it, when I got tackled, I immediately tried to get up and, like, I couldn’t use my left leg to get up because I’m left-hand dominant,” Hill explained. “So I tried to get up, and I saw that my leg was crooked, and I was like, oh (darn), I got a (darn) party score, baby.

“So I immediately started laughing because I feel like, man, I’ve been able to play this game for 10 years, really, my whole entire life, I’ve been blessed with great talents and great gifts and just the amount of support that I get. I’m saying for my family, it’s like, amazing, man.”

Instead of worrying about the potential consequences of the injury, Hill shifted the focus and thought about all the good memories he made during his 10-year career. He said he was happy with everything he experienced on and off the field, especially the time he spent with his kids.

During four games, Hill caught 21 passes for 265 yards and one touchdown. His future with the Dolphins was up in the air even before the season started.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and head coach Mike McDaniel are under heavy scrutiny every week. This could be the final season of the three men on the same team.
