Why Kevin Porter Jr. isn't playing for Bucks with new injury update

The Milwaukee Bucks already had a bit of a thin depth chart as far as their backcourt and ball-handling group go this season.

It's thinner for game number two.

Kevin Porter Jr. entered the season opener as an expected key contributor, but he's already out.

That's one less guy that can help create for Milwaukee.

The Bucks cruised to a win in their first game over the Washington Wizards. If they get it done again Friday night against the Toronto Raptors, it'll be without KPJ.

Why isn't Kevin Porter Jr. playing?

Kevin Porter Jr. got hurt in the opener and is out for at least game two.

Porter sprained his left ankle against the Wizards. He stepped on Bobby Portis' foot, which rolled the ankle.

The Bucks ruled Porter out for at least Oct. 24 in Toronto and Oct. 26 in Cleveland.

Porter's absence pushes Ryan Rollins into an immediately bigger role after he played solid in relief against the Wizards. Cole Anthony will see more time at point guard, too, after his offseason acquisition. Rollins played 29 minutes in the opener, while Anthony got 12 minutes.

Amir Coffey also played 13 minutes off the bench in his Bucks debut and could see similar time with Porter out, a different lefty playmaker in his place.
