Eagles' final Week 8 injury report reaches Defcon 1 levels with 6 players out

The last two injury reports for the Philadelphia Eagles made fans uneasy, but this final one for Week 8 against the New York Giants was about as bad as it gets.

Six players for the Eagles have been ruled out of the Giants game. The biggest name on the list is wide receiver A.J. Brown, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury. One other key offensive player out for the game is center Cam Jurgens, who is out with a knee injury.

The other four players out are on defense with starting cornerback Adoree' Jackson, who is still in concussion protocol. Edge rusher Azeez Ojulari has also been ruled out with a hamstring injury. There will be no debut for Brandon Graham against the Giants, as the Eagles will keep him out. Cornerback Jakorian Bennett is not ready to return from his pectoral injury.

Rookie wide receiver Darius Cooper has been listed as questionable with his shoulder injury. He has not played since the Los Angeles Rams game, and his 21-day practice window was just opened from the IR.

The good news is that the tight ends for the first time since the Denver Broncos will have both Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra available. Calcaterra has missed the last two games with an oblique injury.

Eagles facing disaster without multiple key players in the lineup playing

Brown will be missing his first game of the season with the hamstring injury. He missed three games last year with the same injury, so this is something the Eagles are accustomed to dealing with. DeVonta Smith and Goedert should see most of the targets in the passing game. Watch to see if Cooper will be active against the Giants, as he might get some playing time.

Jurgens will not be replaced with either Drew Kendall or Brett Toth at center. This will undoubtedly mean the offense will run more plays under center.

The Eagles will be super thin at edge with Graham and Ojulari out. That will leave them with just Josh Uche, Jalyx Hunt, and Patrick Johnson available. Not a great look.

Philly's secondary took just as big a hit, and now Kelee Ringo will fill in for Jackson, as both have struggled. Ringo was torched against the Giants two games ago, so he has a chance to get some much-needed revenge.
