Breece Hall's fantasy Week 8 stats could be huge -- and prompt the Jets to trade him

If you drafted New York Jets running back Breece Hall in fantasy football, chances are you have a massive headache.

The vibes around Hall and the coaching staff were immediately off, given all the Braelon Allen talk. Then Allen got hurt, and Hall was primed to be the RB10 or better... right?

Well, it's been the opposite. He has 118 touches without a touchdown this season, which leads the NFL.

However, this week could be different. With the trade rumors flying around Hall, it's best to hold onto him to see where he may end up -- and in the meantime, enjoy his Week 8 matchup (assuming he plays, as expected after a full practice Friday despite a knee injury).

Keep reading on why Week 8 could be the Breece Hall masterclass.

Breece Hall should dominate Bengals in fantasy Week 8

The Jets take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8, and that is why you should absolutely start Hall.

Cincinnati ranks dead last in fantasy points allowed per game to opposing RBs. Here is what the Bengals have allowed to the RB position in each Week thus far.

Despite the frustrations, Hall leads the Jets RBs with 118 total touches. The next closest is Isaiah Davis with 24, and even if you add Allen's touches before the injury, it would still be only half of Hall's.

With this workload, it's hopeful that Hall will be able to produce against a defense so horrendous at stopping the RBs.

As a reminder, he still has plenty of juice:

The RBs with the highest explosive run rates in the NFL (min. 50 carries):

💨 Breece Hall, Jets - 13.1%

💨 D’Andre Swift, Bears - 12.4%

💨 Kenneth Walker III, Seahawks - 11.6%

💨 De’Von Achane, Dolphins - 11.2%

💨 Rico Dowdle, Panthers - 11.2%

💨 Jonathan Taylor, Colts - 10.7%… pic.twitter.com/KphiGUThyJ

Breece Hall possible trade destinations

Los Angeles Chargers

Kansas City Chiefs

Houston Texans

Here's how they break down in our RB handcuff depth charts and rankings:

Team RB1 RB2/Handcuffs

Chargers Kimani Vidal Hassan Haskins (INJ)

Chiefs Isiah Pacheco Brashard Smith, Kareem Hunt (INJ)

Texans Woody Marks (co) Nick Chubb (co)

These are the only teams that make sense for acquiring Hall.

In fact, the Texans are not only the team that makes the most sense but also my favorite option, fantasy-wise, for Hall.

Their offensive line continues to struggle with keeping C.J. Stroud upright. There isn't enough time for those deep-route concepts to develop. Adding a dynamic receiving back, like Hall, creates opportunities for check-downs when Stroud is under pressure. (Plus no one knows if or when Joe Mixon will return this season.)

The Chiefs slot in as my second-favorite destination. Hall is easily better than anything they have at the moment, and he would offer the same receiving threat for Patrick Mahomes to target. However, Isiah Pacheco just came off his best game of the season in Week 7, and Brashard Smith looked solid as well.

On paper, the Chargers make a lot of sense, but it seems like they're going to ride out Omarion Hampton's IR stretch with Kimani Vidal. If the Chargers wanted Hall, they probably would've traded for him by now.

How a Breece Hall trade would impact Isaiah Davis

When a backup becomes the lone starter, sure, the value is there. However, Davis does not seem ready to take on a backfield by himself.

If Hall does get moved, we should expect a committee with Davis and Khalil Herbert. Still, Davis would be worth a stash just in case he did get the full workload. as he's the more versatile back.
