The Eagles snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday and stayed atop the NFC East Division with a 28-22 road win over the Minnesota Vikings. That victory helped right the ship for the Super Bowl champs, whose offense lacked serious firepower early in the season but made promising steps through the air to beat a good Vikings team being helped by former Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. Jalen Hurts broke through with just the third perfect passer rating (158.3) in team history, completing 19 of 23 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns to DeVonta Smith (9-183-1) and A.J. Brown (4-121-2) to silence critics before a shot at redemption against the Giants.
New York secured a big 34-17 win over the Eagles in Week 6 and jumped out to a 19-0 win on the road against the Denver Broncos, only to see the Broncos storm back and steal a 33-32 comeback victory. The young Giants nucleus of Jaxson Dart (283 yards, 3 TDs) and Cam Skattebo (94 total yards, receiving TD) gave the team a chance, but the Broncos scored three touchdowns and a game-winning field goal in the final 5:13 to strike a demoralizing blow to a Giants team on the verge of a huge road win. They’ll take another shot at beating a contender on the road this weekend.
