Kevin Durant makes his Houston Rockets home debut on Friday night against the Detroit Pistons in a matchup of teams coming off opening-game losses.
How to Watch Pistons vs Rockets
Durant scored 23 points before fouling out as the Rockets fell 125-124 in double overtime to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night. Alperen Şengün went off for 39 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists for Houston, which blew an early double-digit lead, while Amen Thompson finished with 18 points. Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) and Isaiah Crawford (ankle) are questionable for Friday night, while Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) remains out of the lineup.
Detroit came back from a 23-point deficit only to fall to the host Chicago Bulls 115-111 on Wednesday night. Cade Cunningham finished with 23 points and 10 assists before fouling out, but was just 8-of-24 from the floor, while Isaiah Stewart went for 20 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. The Pistons shot just 7-of-24 from 3-point range in the loss, while second-year wing Ron Holland scored 19 points. Jaden Ivey (knee) remains out while newcomer Caris LeVert (knee) is probable for Friday.
Houston returned to the postseason last season, finishing second in the Western Conference at 52-30 before losing a seven-game first-round series to the Golden State Warriors. The Pistons won their first playoff games since 2008 but bowed to the New York Knicks in six games in the first round.
