The Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) are set to face off against the Denver Broncos (5-2) on Sunday. Dallas is coming off a dominant win over the Washington Commanders, while Denver is coming off a historic win over the New York Giants. Bo Nix has led Denver’s passing attack over the last two seasons and has proved to show that he is a starter in this league.
As it turns out, Dallas will be without a key player on defense while they take on Nix.
In shocking news, the Cowboys lose star DB Trevon Diggs for massive Broncos contest

Matt Eberflus’ defense turned in one of its best performances of the year last week, racking up four sacks, seven tackles for loss, five pass deflections and a 68-yard pick-six from DaRon Bland. Trevon Diggs, who suffered a concussion at home, was unexpectedly ruled out for that game. Against Denver, Dallas will be without another key defender:
Donovan Wilson has been an important part of the Cowboys’ defense since joining the team in 2019. Along with Wilson’s 36 total tackles, two interceptions and three pass deflections this season, the former Texas A&M safety also has the most tackles since he came to Dallas with 263.
But in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, Wilson suffered an elbow injury but played through it the following week against the Commanders. That decision aggravated the injury, keeping him out of practice all week.
And on Friday, two days before the Week 8 matchup, the Cowboys officially ruled Wilson out for the first time this season. Diggs, who remained in concussion protocol all week, has also been ruled out against the Broncos.
“Donovan Wilson out for Sunday,” Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins wrote on X. “Cowboys injury report.”

The Cowboys will face the Broncos without their two defenders on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET. Then, Wilson could return as soon as Week 9 when Dallas hosts the Arizona Cardinals on “Monday Night Football.”
