Big Day For Big Plays Tomorrow

Big Day For Big Plays Tomorrow

October 25th, 2025

Another long one coming Sunday for Emeka Egbuka?

Since the day that Josh Grizzard was first introduced as the Bucs offensive coordinator, he explained he wanted to keep Liam Coen’s previous offense intact.

That is, with one exception.

Coen disdained throwing the ball downfield past 20 yards from the line of scrimmage. When Joe referred to Coen’s offense as a dink-and-dunk — which it was, though it worked! — Coen playfully (?) called out Joe in one of his weekly press conferences.

Grizzard wants to stretch the field, at least a little. Perhaps tomorrow will be a good chance to do that again. And the following two stats dug up by Rich Hribar of Sharp Football Analysis has Joe salivating.

* Tampa Bay has scored 8 touchdowns from outside of the red zone, tied for second in the league.

* The Saints have allowed 6 touchdowns from outside of the red zone, tied for the most in the league.

Now Joe at first thought this Bucs stat may not fully apply tomorrow. Joe thought Mike Evans may have had a long touchdown or two. But not, he did not.

The only touchdown catch Evans had this year was against the Jets and that was a five-yard score. So none of the eight touchdowns from outside the red zone came from Evans.

Joe wonders if Emeka Egbuka catching another long touchdown pass is in play tomorrow?
