Man United are looking for their third win in a row for the first time under Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim will be pleased that his Manchester United side were finally able to get consecutive wins under him for the first time. They beat Liverpool 2-1 last time out, in what will go down as a memorable evening for the Red Devils fans.

The game at Old Trafford kicks off at 5.30 pm, and could be one of the matches of the weekend. Furthermore, it would be United’s chance to now win three games in a row, and potentially push up to within the top four in the Premier League table.

Chris Sutton predicts Man Utd v Brighton

Ahead of the game on Saturday, BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has made his score prediction as he does every week, and he believes that all the good vibes around United at the moment are somewhat of a smokescreen. Sutton has predicted a 2-1 win for Brighton on Saturday.

He said: “So, while I understand why any win for United against their rivals at Anfield is a massive result, it doesn't mean they have cracked it and turned a corner.

“They have just managed back-to-back league wins for the first time since Ruben Amorim took charge last November, but I am not looking at them and thinking they will make it a hat-trick on Saturday.

“It is down to United to prove me wrong, and show everyone they do have the consistency they have been lacking, and that may well be part of Amorim's team talk.”

Sutton also predicted that Welbeck would score again for Brighton against his former team in United. That would take the 34-year-old’s goal tally this season up to at least five goals in nine games.

Paul Merson

Despite Sutton’s lack of optimism, former Arsenal striker Paul Merson has a slightly better outlook on Amorim’s side heading into the game, as he does think they will go three games unbeaten. However, Merson was only willing to predict a draw rather than a Man United win.

He said via SportsKeeda: “Manchester United were very good against Liverpool. They have now won three out of the last four games, but this is a very tricky game coming up for Ruben Amorim's men.

“The jury is still out on Manchester United. If they win this game, it would be a great result. Brighton may decide to sit back deep in this game. So I'm not sure how effective Matheus Cunha can be in drawing defenders out of position. I don't think Manchester United will win this game, going for a draw here.”

Man United have lost their last two games against Brighton, and so will hope to put that right, and prove both Sutton and Merson wrong with a win at Old Trafford.
