"His impact surprised me a little bit" - Ruben Amorim lauds 23y/o after brilliant start to his…

Manchester United have won three of their past four league matches, and the Red Devils will be eager to continue that form this weekend at Old Trafford when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion.

Man United’s uptick in form has coincided with the recent introduction of new signing Senne Lammens into the starting XI.

The Red Devils had signed the young Belgian goalkeeper following Andre Onana’s departure, and even though it took quite some time to usurp Altay Bayindir, he has taken the reins between the sticks.

The young Man United star has been the starting goalkeeper for the past two games and has been outstanding.

Against Sunderland, he prevented 0.94 goals and kept a clean sheet before recording a remarkable 1.33 goals prevented versus Liverpool.

His brilliant form has drawn praise from Man United head coach Ruben Amorim, who lauded Lammens’ impact.

Amorim said (Fabrizio Romano), “Senne Lammens has been great. His impact surprised me a little bit, because it is hard in the moment of our club and all of the speculation around our goalkeepers.

“He has coped really well with the pressure. He is really composed.”

Lammens will hope to keep up this stellar form for Manchester United this Sunday when the Red Devils take on Brighton.

The Seagulls have provided a stern test for the Premier League giants in recent seasons. They have also claimed scalps against Chelsea and Manchester City. Man Utd must be wary.

Elsewhere, Denis Odoi, who saw Lammens up close at both Club Brugge and Antwerp, lauded his calmness.

Lammens has been turning heads back home, with former Liverpool and Belgian international Simon Mignolet also recently praising his countryman.

The 23-year-old is one of the young candidates expected to succeed Thibaut Courtois, and he needs to stake his claim with performances for Man Utd.
