Everton could really do with a prolific striker right now, but Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres has admitted the Blues once had a forward better than Liverpool’s Alexander Isak.
David Moyes has struggled to find a recipe that works in front of goal when it comes to his two strikers this season.
Through the opening eight games of the Premier League term, Beto and Thierno Barry have combined for just one of Everton’s nine goals.
It has even been suggested earlier in the summer that Moyes was disappointed with Beto and what he had seen from the 27-year-old.
With the manager’s frustrations apparent, Everton News understands that Everton will search for a new striker in January when the market reopens.
The Toffees have boasted some quality strikers in the past and there is one who Gyokeres is a huge fan of.

But it seems there is a running theme throughout strikers in the Premier League and their love for the Cameroonian.
Speaking on the Ballon d’Or’s social media channels, Gyokeres blind ranked a number of current and past strikers, with Eto’o coming out on top of Liverpool’s record signing.
‘Very good player, but I didn’t watch him so much. Sorry, I have to put him seventh,” said the new Arsenal striker.
When it came to Isak, the Swede placed his fellow countryman plum last in tenth spot of the ranking.
It was Brazilian Ronaldo who took top spot and it is another Brazilian who Everton could look to strengthen their options with in the coming months.
According to Everton News’ sources, Everton hold a strong interest in Richarlison and he would be keen on a return to Merseyside.
Samuel Eto’o’s Everton record was not very impressive
It would be fair to say that when Eto’o was playing his football at Goodison Park, his best days were probably behind him.
In his 20 appearances, the former Cameroon international only managed to provide a return of four goals for the Toffees.

However, he did show some moments of magic for Everton; like in the away game against Burnley where he was able to return a brace in the 3-1 victory.
Everton view Barry as a long-term project, but it is becoming apparent they need a striker to really lead that front line.
The Toffees have seen plenty of big names play up front in the past and they desperately need something to change in that position.
