We have joined forces with Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) to call on supporters and the wider public to learn CPR, a simple but critical skill that can help save a life during a cardiac arrest.

A compelling new video featuring our players will urge viewers to take just a few minutes to learn CPR using RCUK’s free Lifesaver training tool, an interactive resource that guides people through the essential steps of CPR using real-life scenarios.Cardiac arrest can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time. Acting quickly is critical: Immediate CPR can double someone’s chances of survival. In the UK, fewer than 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, often because bystanders don’t feel confident to help. To help change this, we are also taking the message straight to our supporters, encouraging us all to learn CPR.

Our Head of Sports Medicine and Performance Zafar Iqbal, said: "Learning CPR is a simple yet powerful act that can save lives, and at Arsenal, we’re proud to support this vital message. Everyone should learn how to do CPR and we want all supporters and the wider public to feel confident taking action in a cardiac emergency.

"Learning CPR takes just a few minutes and could help save someone’s life.”

James Cant, Chief Executive at Resuscitation Council UK, said: "We’re proud to be working with Arsenal to raise awareness of the power of CPR. Every second counts when someone’s in cardiac arrest. Members of the public need to feel confident to recognise cardiac arrest, call the emergency services, initiate CPR and use a defibrillator to save more lives.

"Our free Lifesaver training tool is a quick and interactive way to learn these crucial skills.”
