He’s looking to bring people nothing but a good time.
Poison frontman and Pennsylvania native Bret Michaels is set to perform during halftime at the upcoming Steelers game.
According to the singer’s official Facebook page, Michaels — who was born in Butler County but raised in the Mechanicsburg area — will be performing a recently recorded, brand new version of the Poison song “Nothin’ But A Good Time” during the NBC Sunday Night Football halftime. Kickoff for the game is at 8:20 p.m.
“Music icon, Pittsburgh native, type one diabetic and son of a veteran, Bret Michaels will bring his legendary energy to rock halftime on NBC’s Sunday Night Football as the Pittsburgh Steelers go head-to-head with the Green Bay Packers at the Forged in Pittsburgh Origin Game at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 26,” the post reads.
“As a Western Pennsylvania native, I could not be more honored to bring nothing but a good time at halftime for the Forged in Pittsburgh Origin Game...,” Michaels stated in the release. “Steeler Nation, we’re one big family, let’s rock!”
Michaels was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes as a child, and has been active in raising awareness about the disease.
He initially announced the show in a video posted to Facebook, emphasizing that, “It’s gonna be nothing but a good time at halftime on NBC Sunday night football.”
“We’re gonna bring all of our diabetic friends, all of our unbelievable military, active duty, and veterans — as I am a diabetic and son of a veteran — to join me on stage,” said he. “We’re gonna make this special.”
Whether Michaels’s performance will be televised or not remains unclear as of the publishing of this report.
