Manchester United return to Premier League action this evening when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim's side claimed a huge 2-1 victory over Liverpool last time out.

Harry Maguire’s header six minutes from time was enough to secure United all three points after Cody Gakpo had initially cancelled out Bryan Mbeumo’s opener. But Amorim revealed on Friday afternoon that his side are sweating on the fitness of Maguire and Mason Mount.

“The squad is fine, we have some doubts,” he said. “We had some issues during the week with Harry Maguire and Mason Mount. Knocks, but nothing serious.

"We will see tomorrow. Licha [Lisandro Martinez] is out. The rest are ready for the game.

“I think it’s going to be, like always, a very difficult game. Brighton is a team that is really fun to watch.

“They are really good on the build-up, they are really strong on transitions in every aspect of the game. They are doing well in set-pieces this season, so I think they are a team that is really complete.

“We need to be really smart and to face that game with a real focus on everything that we do because they are a very strong team.”

However, a graphic featuring Maguire as the only player went out across the club's social media accounts on Saturday morning. "Let's build on last weekend's success," the caption read.

Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu posted similar images on their individual accounts on Friday night.

Dalot played the full 90 minutes at Anfield and has started all three United matches since recovering from a muscle injury late last month. But Dorgu has not started since the 3-1 defeat to Brentford, after being displaced by Amad, but has come on as a substitute in both matches since then.

Carlos Baleba also posted a matchday graphic on Saturday morning that included the caption "Coming to Old Trafford" and was punctuated by a face with tears of joy emoji. That post, however, was swiftly deleted from his Instagram story within minutes.

But one player who United will be without is Lisandro Martinez, with Amorim saying on Friday: "Licha is out. He trained really well, he was on the next pitch, and I was watching.

"He's training really well, the knee is looking well, but I don't want to say a specific week [for his return]. And then it depends on Licha, whether he wins the spot."
