The Washington Wizards are looking for reasons to be excited about their future.
Consider Kyshawn George part of the answer.
George put up a stat line so ridiculous on Friday night that he joined Shaquille O'Neal in NBA history.
First, those stats:
34 points
11 rebounds
2 steals
3 blocks
Those 34 points were a career high for George. He shot 7-for-9 from 3-point range.

According to StatMuse, only Shaq has ever recorded that combination of those four stats in a game at a younger age than George (and we know Shaq wasn't shooting 7-for-9 from 3).
George, a second-year player from Switzerland by way of the University of Miami, is 21 years old.
He's not exactly the player you'd expect to be joining Shaq on any sort of record lists. George is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound wing.
But he clearly knows how to get himself involved on the interior, and he did it in a major way against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

George's performance was even bigger time because the Wizards beat the Mavs, 117-107. It could be a sign of things to come for a Washington team that would love to prove to the rest of the NBA that it's on the rise.
If George keeps playing like this, they very well might be rising quicker than anyone would've expected.
