Saints Writers Pick Bucs To Win Sunday
October 25th, 2025
Joe hates the slimy Saints as much as Baker Mayfield does.
That’s why Sunday’s matchup in New Orleans is a can’t-lose game for the Bucs, their fans, and especially for Todd Bowles.
Joe was reading all about this Saints yesterday and enjoyed the takes from five Saints beat writers of Nola.com, the top news site in New Orleans.
Three of the five writers predicted a two-score victory by Tampa Bay. Longtime scribe Jeff Duncan sees a tight game.
Jeff Duncan (Season record: 4-3)
Bucs 21, Saints 19: Division games are always more competitive than you think going in, and the Bucs are playing without three of their best playmakers because of injuries. After the tough loss in Chicago and Baker Mayfield’s incendiary comments this week, the Saints will be ready to play. I’m just not sure it will be good enough to pull off the upset.
Joe wonders if Duncan heard a lot of locker room rumblings from Saints players this week, unhappy that Mayfield implied the Saints play dirty football.
Regardless, the Bucs have to win. At 1-6 with a substandard quarterback, the slimy Saints beating the Bucs would be the NFL’s biggest upset after the Giants knocking off the Eagles two weeks ago.
Joe hopes the Bucs are locked in to play their first true complete game performance of the season. A repeat of the Bucs trailing in Week 18 to the Saints in Tampa in the fourth quarter last season might get Joe seeking anxiety relief.
