Josuha Guilavogui sends message Leeds United fans will love after beating West Ham

Josuha Guilavogui made quite the impression in his brief time with Leeds United.

The Frenchman made 16 Championship appearances last term – which totalled just 57 minutes – after arriving on a free transfer in October, but is fondly remembered at Elland Road having quickly become a popular figure.

Most of the Leeds squad were gutted to see the 35-year-old depart despite the fact he only spent around eight months in Yorkshire, a testament to his character.

Josuha Guilavogui has now posted a message Leeds fans will adore after the crucial 2-1 win over West Ham, praising supporters for the volume levels created inside Elland Road.

Josuha Guilavogui jokes he could hear Leeds fans all the way from Paris

The man born in Ollioules was involved in the hilariously named French version of Match of the Day – titled Match of Ze Day – on Friday night, and posted the following message from the studio.

Guilavogui wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Friday night. Under the lights. Congratulations @LUFC! Massive win! 💛💙 Elland Road – we can hear you all the way to Paris! Don’t stop buzzing!!!”

Leeds fans – who showed their class when Oliver Scarles went off injured – certainly created the required atmosphere on Friday, pushing the players towards a vital three points by making Elland Road a deafening venue.

The result pushed the Whites up to 13th in the Premier League – six points clear of the relegation zone at the time of writing.

Josuha Guilavogui needs to tell his pal Lukas Nmecha to up it

Guilavogui is a close friend of Lukas Nmecha after playing alongside the German at VfL Wolfsburg, and the man from Hamburg made a superb start to life at Leeds when scoring the winner on his Premier League debut against Everton.

However, the 26-year-old did little to show Daniel Farke that he should be starting over Dominic Calvert-Lewin after replacing the England international in the 87th minute against West Ham.

Nmecha was required to muck in and help out defensively after the Hammers pulled a goal back in the 90th minute, but his effort levels left a lot to be desired as he spent most of his nine minutes on the pitch jogging.

Had West Ham equalised, his poor cameo would have surely come under the spotlight, so he needs to learn that every minute counts in the Premier League.
