It has never been easier for Liverpool supporters to get a glimpse into the lives of their heroes in red.
With so much hunger for content, Liverpool players – and all elite footballers – can rarely escape the cameras.
Sometimes, with clubs controlling much of the narrative, it can be hard for players to get their true personalities across, and things can be easily misconstrued.

But thanks to social media, footballers can now very much tailor the public’s perception of them. While it is commonplace for many to interact with supporters on sites such as Instagram and X, some have decided to take things further and set up their own YouTube channels.
Tottenham’s James Maddison led the way, seemingly with the primary intention of documenting his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury. Man City superstar Erling Haaland has now followed suit, posting his first, 27-minute video on Thursday. It has already been viewed more than 2 million times.
So, with a new trend emerging amongst some of the Premier League‘s most recognisable names, Rousing The Kop ask which member of the Liverpool squad would you like to see on YouTube.

The candidates for Liverpool’s YouTube channel
Liverpool certainly have some personalities within their squad, and there will no doubt be a few eyeing the success of Maddison and Haaland and thinking it could be them.
Perhaps the most obvious choice from a Liverpool perspective would be Andy Robertson. The Scot is consistently named as the Reds’ funniest player, and his outgoing nature could work on video.

Jeremie Frimpong is another who could easily captivate audiences. The 24-year-old has instantly settled in at Liverpool and is clearly an interesting character.
Curtis Jones loves the camera too, and for fans, seeing a glimpse into a Scouser’s life as a player for his boyhood club would certainly be something unique.
Supporters would no doubt love to see the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk documenting their daily routines as well, although it seems unlikely that either would allow for the intrusion.
Finally, Hugo Ekitike has caused a stir amongst Liverpool fans with his antics on social media since arriving this summer. The Frenchman has a second Instagram account in which he posts all kinds of weird and wonderful things, and as a man in form, supporters would love to see more.
The verdict: Hugo Ekitike, it’s your time to shine
It remains to be seen whether Maddison or Haaland continue posting their videos on a regular basis.
The Spurs man has posted only two videos for his 90k+ subscribers, with the last coming more than two weeks ago. Haaland, meanwhile, only has the one upload so far.
But while the trend is on, we would not be surprised to see someone at Liverpool jump on it.
In our opinion, that man could – and should – be Ekitike. The 23-year-old clearly has a life beyond football, and it would be great to get a peek behind the curtain into how he’s settling in at Liverpool.
Robertson, Frimpong and Jones may well be keen to feature, but for us, Ekitike should be the player to lead the Reds into this brave new world.
It would be brilliant if the former Eintracht star could replicate Haaland’s form on the pitch, maybe he can start by following his lead off it.
