Sky Sports: Crystal Palace star ‘holds talks’ with Champions League club over exit, director…

Bayern Munich have held talks with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi’s representatives as the transfer race for the England international heats up, Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed.

Max Eberl, Bayern’s board member for sport, reportedly met with Guehi’s agent, Gordon Stipic, in Munich following the defender’s decision to depart Palace in 2026, which put multiple European clubs on alert.

Guehi has already informed Palace that he is willing to leave the club after entering the final year of his contract, with the expectation that he will end his Selhurst Park chapter after the season and depart as a free agent.

Bayern are believed to be firmly in the race for the ‘world-class’ 25-year-old defender, along with Real Madrid and Liverpool, with Guehi yet to pinpoint his preferred destination.

The Palace skipper is said to be one of Bayern’s preferred centre-back targets, along with Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck, as the German club look for a potential replacement for either Dayot Upamecano or Kim Min-jae.

According to Plettenberg, Bayern could look to sign Guehi if Upamecano leaves at the end of his contract or the club decides to sell Kim.

Guehi was expected to leave Palace during the summer transfer window and came close to joining Liverpool on the final day of business.

The England international saw his move to Anfield collapse on transfer deadline day, as Palace were unable to sign a replacement in time.

Guehi has remained a key part of Oliver Glasner’s squad amid uncertainty over his future this season, playing every single minute of their Premier League campaign and registering three goal involvements.

The 25-year-old helped Palace lift their first major trophy in history – the FA Cup – last season, and also enjoyed Community Shield success in August.
