The Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams could be competing against one another for an addition at one particular spot.
According to a rumor from The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Rams, Lions, Colts and Ravens are all in the market for a cornerback ahead of the trade deadline, which falls on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
"The Ravens, Colts, Lions and Rams are making calls for a corner," Russini wrote in her latest column on Saturday.
The Ravens and Colts sport two of the worst passes defenses in the NFL, ranking 28th and 29th, respectively, entering Week 8.
Baltimore has been banged-up at cornerback all season long, and Jaire Alexander has been a total disaster.
The Colts' cornerbacks room took a hit when Xavien Howard unexpectedly retired, although saying the room "took a hit" in the wake of his retirement is certainly debatable given his poor play this season.
The Lions and Rams have fared much better in pass defense than the Colts and Ravens, with both ranking in the middle of the pack in the league.
But Detroit is dealing with injuries to starters Terrion Arnold and D.J. Reed, and even their backups are hurt. Los Angeles could use another starting solution with Ahkello Witherspoon on the shelf with a broken clavicle.
Seeing as how they at least have realistic playoff hopes, the Lions, Colts and Rams will likely be much more motivated than the Ravens, although that could change if Baltimore strings a few wins together before the Nov. 4 deadline.
