“Was Downgraded”: Baltimore Ravens Have Bad News for MVP QB

The (1-5) Baltimore Ravens host the (4-2) Chicago Bears at M&T Bank Stadium for Week 8 of the regular season, coming off a much-needed BYE. The team is fighting to salvage their season and keep playoff hopes alive, with a loss pushing them into a deeper hole. The Ravens also hope their two-time MVP returns after an extended absence.

Lamar Jackson suffered a hamstring strain in Week 4, resulting in him missing the previous two games. He was listed as limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday before being upgraded to a full participant, with his Week 8 status depending on how he feels throughout the week. As a result, the Ravens listed Jackson as questionable for Sunday’s game.

According to Ian Rapoport, Lamar Jackson ran with the scout team on Friday, indicating he is a week away from returning. On X, the Ravens announced they downgraded the two-time MVP from a full participant to limited in Friday’s practice and ruled him out against the Chicago Bears. Jackson will miss his third straight matchup, though the team remains optimistic he will play in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night Football.

There has been an update to Lamar Jackson’s Friday practice and game status. Jackson was downgraded from a full practice participant to limited, and he has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game vs. Chicago.

Who starts at QB?

Miami Dolphins, Tyler Huntley

The plan is for Tyler “Snoop” Huntley to start at quarterback against the Chicago Bears, with Cooper Rush demoted to the backup role. Rush started the past two games but struggled, throwing for 303 yards, zero touchdowns, and four interceptions, resulting in a 0-2 record before being benched in Week 7. Huntley filled in for the remainder of that game, and even if Lamar Jackson played, the plan was for Huntley to be the backup.
