Liverpool team vs. Brentford confirmed as Arne Slot makes Mohamed Salah decision

Arne Slot has chosen to recall Mohamed Salah to the Liverpool starting line-up for the Premier League encounter against Brentford.

The 33-year-old was named on the substitutes' bench for the midweek win over Eintracht Frankfurt and Salah's form and place in the Liverpool side has been a major talking point in recent days.

Salah deleted any reference to Liverpool from his social media bio this week and stormed down the tunnel after the full-time whistle in Germany. Slot defended the Egyptian in Friday's press conference and backed him to soon rediscover his goalscoring form. Slot will hopes that starts against Brentford on Saturday.

He is one of three changes from the team that started against Frankfurt, with Conor Bradley and Milos Kerkez also coming in to replace Jeremie Frimpong, Andy Robertson and Alexander Isak.

With Alisson still injured, Giorgi Mamardashvili retains his place in the starting line-up at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Bradley and Kerkez join Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk in the back. Robertson's relegation to the bench may feel harsh following his impressive display against Frankfurt on Wednesday.

In midfield, Slot has stuck with the winning formula of Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai that impressed in midweek, with Florian Wirtz likely to place a more central role following Salah inclusion.

Liverpool's no.11 is expected to play from the right wing, with Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo also starting in the attacking areas after scoring last time out in the 5-1 Champions League win.

Isak was not named in the squad following the injury he suffered in Germany. Ryan Gravenberch also remains unavailable and did not travel with the Liverpool squad to London due to the knock he sustained in last week's defeat against Manchester United.

With five senior players missing through injury, youngster Kieran Morrison has been named among the substitutes.

For the hosts, there are a few familiar faces, with Caoimhin Kelleher, Sepp van den Berg and Jordan Henderson starting against their former club.

Liverpool line-up: Mamardashvili; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Jones, Szoboszlai; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike.

Substitutes: Woodman, Gomez, Robertson, Endo, Nyoni, Mac Allister, Morrison, Chiesa, Ngumoha.
