View from the Opposition: Arteta on Eze's reunion with Palace

Questioned further on the feeling of playing against a former club, Arteta described it as: "There is something in your tummy. There is history, there are a lot of emotions, there are very close relationships.

"You might think once you step in there and you go with that mindset, someday, you have even more will to win because you made that decision to be successful and to achieve something else in your career, and I’m sure Ebs is going to be ready for that."

Arsenal team news

The Gunners will be without four key attackers on Sunday afternoon in captain Martin Ødegaard, summer signing Noni Madueke, and forwards Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus – who scored fives times in two meetings with Palace last season.

"They are progressing really well," Arteta said of the quartet. "They are starting to do certain activities.

"They are all super willing to be available as quickly as possible, but at the moment, none of them are in contention in the next week or so."

There is also a possible doubt at the other end, with key central defender Gabriel leaving the field after 72 minutes of Tuesday's 4-0 win over Arsenal.

Arteta added: "Big Gabi had to leave the pitch with an issue and he hasn't been able to train yet, so let's see how he evolves in the next 24 hours to see whether he's available or not for the weekend."
