Pittsburgh Steelers scouts eye fast-rising Alabama, uniquely-talented South Carolina…

The Pittsburgh Steelers are out in force at Saturday’s Alabama-South Carolina matchup that will feature two of the top 2026 NFL Draft quarterbacks.

According to Alabama beat writer Hunter De Siver, the Steelers have two scouts to watch the matchup between top quarterbacks Ty Simpson and LaNorris Sellers.

Sellers and Simpson have both been on the Steelers’ radar this season, and they have now watched both quarterbacks multiple times. That has continued a theme this season, where the Steelers have honed in on quarterbacks throughout the 2026 NFL Draft, evaluating each player and doing their heavy-handed work on the class.

With Aaron Rodgers on just a one-year contract and potentially retiring after this season, Pittsburgh has focused on the quarterback class to make sure what they are working with.

Simpson, a first-year starter, has come out of nowhere to become one of the top quarterbacks in the entire class. He has 18 touchdowns to just one interception while completing 70.2 percent of his passes for 1931 passing yards.

Sellers, meanwhile, is an electric dual-threat quarterback who while talented, has shown some inconsistency throughout the season. Even still, he has put up an impressive season on the ground and through the air while battling some injuries as well.

This is the latest stop for the Steelers on their tour of the 2026 NFL Draft quarterback class, and it seems likely that is what they will pick in the first round of the next draft.
