Three biggest moments from Man Utd vs Brighton as Bryan Mbeumo scores brace

Manchester United took on Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday evening, walking away 4-2 winners to secure a third straight win.

The game had a dream start once again as Manchester United claimed an early lead through Matheus Cunha, who converted a Casemiro pass with world-class composure, finding the bottom corner.

United extended the lead when Casemiro’s shot deflected past Bart Verbruggen and into the net, much to Old Trafford’s delight.

Matheus Cunha scores first Manchester United goal

It will have been a frustrating wait for a first goal at United for Cunha, but it was definitely worth waiting for. An excellent finish from outside the box showcased his quality and was definitely deserved.

Cunha has been excellent all season, but the goal is what he needed to build confidence and really kick on in his United career.

First of many for Cunha, and already he is becoming a cult hero at Old Trafford.

Casemiro’s deflected goal to capitalise on pressure

After Cunha scored, United continued to be impressive, pushing for a second and Casemiro provided it, by way of a pretty substantial deflection.

The goal itself wasn’t the big moment, but what it meant was. United grabbing a second is something which hasn’t happened enough over the past few years, leading to heart attack inducing endings to games.

This goal killed Brighton of any momentum and meant that the rest of the game was pretty straight forward.

Bryan Mbeumo goal put game beyond doubt

There is a saying in football that a 2-0 lead can often be the most dangerous, but a 3-0 lead is usually insurmountable.

Well this signifies how vital it was when Mbeumo put the ball in the net in the second-half, ending any illusions Brighton might have had.

It was a good thing United got the third too, as Brighton did get one back through Danny Welbeck. But United’s victory was secured when Mbeumo’s goal went in, despite the late Brighton pressure, and his fourth ended the game once again in a huge performance by the Cameroonian.
