Manchester United beat Brighton 4-2 on Saturday to secure a third straight win this season.
Say it quietly, but Manchester United might just be back as the good times promised by Ruben Amorim have finally arrived. Three wins in a row against three different levels of opposition proves United’s form is no fluke.
It was a dream start as Matheus Cunha scored his first goal for the club to capitalise on a strong and positive start after some excellent attacking play in the build up.

United didn’t let up after the goal, with Casemiro’s deflected effort sending Bart Verbruggen the complete opposite direction and establishing a strong lead.
In the second-half, United continued to impress and Bryan Mbeumo took advantage of this to score his fourth goal of the season.
Danny Welback led a late Brighton comeback to 3-2, but Mbeumo got another to wrap up the win with his fifth goal of the season.

Manchester United ratings vs Brighton
Here are our player ratings for United vs Brighton.
Senne Lammens – 7
Once again looked utterly unfazed that he was in the United goal in front of 75,000 people, claiming crosses and inspiring confidence throughout the entire team.
More United News
Leny Yoro – 7
Looked calm, composed and professional at the back. Didn’t put a foot wrong and should be an instant starter from now on.
Matthijs de Ligt – 7
Looked strong once again with some big interventions at the back. Strength to strength from the Dutchman.
Luke Shaw – 6
Was solid for most of the game, but did have a few scary moments due to complacency which sees him lower than his centre-back partners. Got an assist.
Amad – 7
Very impressive once again, threat going forward and shut down Brighton’s attacks down the right side with ease. Looks a natural in his new position.
Casemiro – 9
Scored and assisted, but the real impressive part was the way he performed in midfield. Rolled back the years once again, a new contract should be considered. Best player on the pitch and impact was felt when he went off.
Bruno Fernandes – 7
Ran play from midfield, made Carlos Baleba look like a player who shouldn’t be on Manchester United’s 2026 shopping list.
Diogo Dalot – 6
Solid performance on the left, nothing special.
Bryan Mbeumo – 9
Scored an excellent goal for his fourth of the season. Threat every time he had the ball and his second goal was massive for United. Man of the match.
Matheus Cunha – 8
Scored his first goal with a brilliant finish and was brilliant all-round for United once again.
Benjamin Sesko – 7
Underrated performance as his build up played a part in all three goals, got an assist.
Ayden Heaven – 5
Looked rocky when he came on, likely due to a lack of game time.
Kobbie Mainoo – 6
Far from his best here, looked sloppy in possession at times, but did grow into his cameo, ending a lot better than it started, needs more minutes.
Patrick Dorgu – 5
Poor showing from the Dane, looked off the match pace and offered less than Dalot.
Joshua Zirkzee – 6
Held the ball up well but was poor for Brighton’s second goal.
Manuel Ugarte – 5
Poor in midfield, his stock continues to drop.
