Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo shone as Manchester United defeated Brighton 4-2 in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Ruben Amorim made two changes to his starting line up from the Liverpool win as Leny Yoro and Benjamin Sesko replaced Harry Maguire and Mason Mount. United should have had a penalty when Amad Diallo was fouled in the box but play was waved on by referee Anthony Taylor.
United thought they should have had another penalty when Mbeumo was downed in the box but there could be little debate when Cunha gave them the lead with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box. United continued to dominate the match and soon had a second when an ambitious effort from Casemiro deflected off Yasin Ayari and found the back of the net.
Benjamin Sesko almost added a third on the stroke of half-time when he fired wide of goal and Bruno Fernandes almost added one straight after the restart when his close-range effort was saved by Bart Verbruggen. United controlled the match and soon got their third when Mbeumo fired in at the Stretford End to secure the win in style.
Danny Welbeck gave the away side a lifeline when he fired in a free-kick, and Charalampos Kostoulas set up a frantic finale when he headed in a second in stoppage time. However, United hit back as Mbeumo fired in an emphatic fourth goal at the very end.
United held on to record their third successive win in the Premier League and here is how we rated the players:
A commanding presence in goal. He made some simple stops and confidently claimed crosses into his box. Will be a little disappointed with the free-kick he conceded.

Much improved in the central defensive role as United frustrated the Brighton forward line. Produced one fantastic last-ditch tackle.
3. Matthijs De Ligt - 6

Good recovery work in the backline. He pushed high and won the ball back in the build-up to their second goal. A shame to see him taken off.
4. Luke Shaw - 7
