Chicago Bears’ standout slot cornerback Kyler Gordon has not been able to stay healthy to start the regular season. Gordon returned in Week 6 and played the previous two games without further complications.

Kyler Gordon suffered an apparent groin and calf injury during Thursday’s practice. As a result, the star slot cornerback sat out on Friday and was ruled out for Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens. On X, the Bears announced they have placed Gordon on injured reserve, sidelining him for at least the next four games, joining Jaylon Johnson on the reserve/injured list.

The plan is for Nick McCloud to tackle slot duties. The former New York Giant and San Francisco 49ers previously filled in for Gordon when he missed the first four games and has struggled in relief. McCloud has allowed a 91.7% completion rate, 114 passing yards, one touchdown, and a 134 passer rating on 12 targets across six games, including three starts, and accounting for 61% of defensive snaps.
