Tottenham will not entertain any offers for Destiny Udogie in the January transfer window
Thomas Frank has several injury problems to deal with, as Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday in the Premier League.
The growing injury list has been concerning for Thomas Frank, whose side have won just once in the last five games in all competitions. Their Premier League form has faded after a bright start to the season, bagging just five points in the last four games. Injuries to key players have affected the Lilywhites’ form, with the defensive unit once again showing signs of fragility.
Tottenham’s leader at the back, Cristian Romero has missed the last two games with an adductor strain, and he remains doubtful to face Everton. Ben Davies has been ruled out for weeks with a hamstring injury, joining James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski on the sidelines. Like Romero and Davies, Destiny Udogie has also missed the games against Aston Villa and AS Monaco because of a knee problem. The left-back has been ruled out for the trip to Everton, although Thomas Frank does not expect him to be out for much longer.

Bryan King says Tottenham will not sell Destiny Udogie in January
It has not been an easy start to the season for Destiny Udogie. The 22-year-old is once again struggling to keep himself fit- a story which has continued since the second half of the 2022/23 season. The Italian was not fit for the majority of the pre-season and has now already missed four games this term.
The left-back was tentatively linked with an exit from Spurs in the summer. Udogie emerged as a target for AC Milan, but they dropped their interest in him following the capture of Pervis Estupinan from Brighton and Hove Albion. While Udogie’s fitness continues to be a concern, Frank has now got an able deputy in Djed Spence at left-back. Yet, Udogie, when fully fit, makes a big difference to how Spurs operate, which could lead to clubs reigniting their interest in him in 2026.
Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King believes that the Lilywhites won’t listen to offers for the Italian in January, but could contemplate a sale at the end of the season.
“I’d certainly keep him (Udogie),” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“Spurs have got an English international in (Djed) Spence, a Spanish international in (Pedro) Porro and an Italian one in Udogie, that’s not a bad selection at all for your full-backs. I would certainly keep those three options, and then have another look at it at the end of the season.
“I’ve always liked Udogie since he came in. He was certainly one of Spurs’ better signings recently, as was Porro.”

Destiny Udogie has battled with Djed Spence for the left-back spot this season
Tottenham must keep faith in Udogie
Udogie has been a key part of the Tottenham backline since he officially arrived in the summer of 2023. His ability to play as an inverted full-back made him so important in Ange Postecoglou’s system, with the 22-year-old delivering a noteworthy performance in the north Londoners’ Europa League final win over Manchester United in May.
It is true that the left-back has been dealing with hamstring issues since his debut season in north London. That’s quite frustrating for the player and the club, but as he is just 22, there is ample time for Udogie to prove his fitness and become a consistent player for Tottenham. He is a talent, and for the fans to enjoy his best years, Spurs must continue backing him.
