Bryan Mbeumo has revealed "the effort and the togetherness" shown by the Manchester United squad have sparked the upturn in form in recent weeks.

Mbeumo netted twice as United claimed a 4-2 triumph over Brighton on Saturday night. United were in complete control early in the second half when Mbeumo's opening strike made it 3-0 following first-half goals from Matheus Cunha and Casemiro.

Nevertheless, a Danny Welbeck free-kick and a late Charalampos Kostoulas effort created a tense finale to the match.

Mbeumo's second goal of the evening guaranteed United would complete a hat-trick of consecutive victories, with the Cameroon international discussing both the result and his early experiences at United following the final whistle.

"I enjoy it a lot here," he remarked when questioned about his opening months at the club.

Mbeumo was pressed on whether he could identify what had changed at United during recent weeks, having secured three straight victories after managing just two wins in seven matches across all competitions.

"The work we put in, the effort, the togetherness is the key," he explained. "We try to stick to the plan and try to play as best as possible.
